Healthy Green Drinks for St. Patrick’s Day
This St. Patty’s Day I thought I would try something new and keep with my green health kick inspired by my pledge to have a Meatless March. As such, I have decided to finally attempt a few of those many green drink recipes that pack a lot of much needed nutrients into one drink. And for those of you who plan on enjoying a day of green colored draft beer somewhere, these healthy detoxifying recipes may just be the answer to your hangover cure!
The main ingredients for most green smoothies combine a few staples which you can experiment with to make them fit your own specific taste. These include kale, mint, spinach, parsley, avocado, cucumber, ginger, pineapple, banana, apple, ginger, almond milk and almond butter. Kale has many health benefits including detoxification of the kidneys while ginger helps soothe an upset stomach and banana, avocado and almond butter help to add thickness and substance. My favorite combo is kale, cucumber, mint, apple and ginger!
Here are a few fun recipes to help you feel better. Just put the ingredients into your juicer/blender and enjoy! And if you have a favorite green glass of goodness, please share it in the comments box below!
