It’s a Boy!
Yes everyone, you read that right! Mark and I are going to have a baby boy!!
I am 4 1/2 months pregnant this week and we are so excited to be adding to our family this summer! Approximate due date June 30th!
It is wonderful to spend some time reflecting back on the last 6 years and how grateful we feel for this new chapter in our lives. We truly can’t wait to experience the joys of parenthood once the little bubs arrives and now that we know it’s a boy I can’t wait to get started on the nursery and hopefully use my skills to carry it out with the goal of sustainability in mind!
When my sister and I began chatting about starting a blog I was only a month pregnant and going through a harrowing first trimester. I knew though, that this was the perfect time to start bringing about some positive changes in our lives to prepare for raising our first child in the healthiest way possible while striving to keep the environment in mind as well. This was my biggest motivation to begin changing my outlook on the ways in which we approached our diet, way of life, and the overall health of our growing family.
I know I have a long road ahead of me, but I welcome the challenge of digging deep to figure out how to raise my children right and give them the best chance and a wonderful and healthy life. I am excited research everything from the best lead free toys for the new baby to how to prepare homemade organic baby food. This is such a special time and I feel so blessed to be entering motherhood!
Hi, Valen! It’s Delen. Congrats! I’m so excited for you guys.
As for baby food, I recommend looking into Plum Organics and Happy Baby foods. I eat these myself when my colitis flares up, because they are so nutritious and gentle on the gut! Also check out “The Best Homemade Baby Food on the Planet” – it’s a book, and the recipes look so good I can’t decide if I want to have a baby, or go on an all baby food diet!
Ooo, I love it! Thanks so much Delen! I can use all the resources I can get right now! Definitely going to get that book, it sounds delightful!
